doesn't understand the Biblical concept that Jesus Christ is King of Kings.
Discussion
- The Reality of His Kingship
- The Old Testament prophesied of his kingship.
- Daniel 2:44
- Daniel 7:13, 14
- Micah 4:1, 2
- The New Testament opens with the time of his kingship described as near.
- Matthew 3:1, 2
- Matthew 4:17
- Matthew 16:18, 19.
- Acts 1:3
- Three different concepts converge concerning the kingship of Christ.
- Power - Mark 9:1
- Place (Jerusalem) - Luke 24:46, 47
- Person (The Holy Spirit) -Acts 1:8
- Pentecost is the time that these concepts converged - Acts 2:1-4, 22-24,
29-32, 36.
- The New Testament speaks of the kingdom as being in existence during the
first century.
- In the book of Acts:
- Acts 8:12
- Acts 14:22
- Acts 19:8
- Acts 20:25
- Acts 28:23
- The preaching of Paul was clear - Acts 17:7
- Colossians 1:5, 6.
- Colossians 1:13
- The gospel of the kingdom (Matthew 13:19 - "the word of the
kingdom") came to Colossae - they heard and obeyed and thereby became part
of the kingdom.
- Matthew 24:14
- Revelation 1:9
- Christ is NOW reigning over his kingdom.
- 1 Corinthians 15:24-26

the kingdom to God.

- The Proof of His Resurrection.
- Revelation 1:5
- "Faithful witness" - his claims and his prophecies.
- Matthew 12:39, 40
- Matthew 27:63
- "First begotten" - his resurrection -Not the first to be raised,
but the first raised to die no more (Romans 6:9).
- The Price He Paid to Redeem.
- "Loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood."

- Matthew 26:28
- The Relationship of His Kingship to My Life
- My Humility before Him.
- Matthew 18:3
- Luke 5:8
- Isaiah 6:1-5.
- The Honor that I give Him.
- 1 Timothy 1:17
- How could we reach a point where we are not willing to fall before him in
humble worship and praise?
- Ex. We want to be with our children when they have activities, not because
we are afraid of what others will say if we are not there, but because we love
them.
- Hebrews 10:25 - the problem is not a failure to know that we ought to be
present, it may very well be a failure to recognize Jesus as King of kings.
- "Too much church" - never does one say "too much
grace/forgiveness/blessings."
- If he is King of kings, I should be willing to serve and worship him.
- Hypocrisy must be guarded against.
- Matthew 27:29
- If in my daily life I do not submit to his will in the way I seem to do so
in worship, I am no different from these soldiers.
- Hypocrites do not understand the significance of Jesus as "King of
kings."
- Luke 6:46.
Conclusion
- Jesus is King of kings - have you submitted yourself to him?
