Introduction

1. While this lesson was presented during a time when we were remodeling the auditorium of our church building this was obviously not the focus of this lesson.
2. There are times that we need to do some personal remodeling in our lives.

Discussion

1. To Correct A Problem
   1. Mold or mildew collecting on the ceiling; other physical problems.
   2. Psalm 51:2, 10
   3. The church at Corinth needed to remodel -correct a number of problems: division and strife (ch. 1); man living with his father's wife (ch. 5); going to court (ch. 6); meats offered to idols (ch. 8); Lord's Supper (ch. 10, 11); Miraculous gifts (ch. 12-14); Denial of resurrection (ch. 15).
   4. The answer is two fold, found in 1 Thessalonians 5:21
      1. Prove all things
         1. 2 Corinthians 13:5
         2. Galatians 6:4
      2. Hold fast that which is good
         1. This passage also implies that we must get rid of what is not good.
         2. Ephesians 4:22-24
2. To Make An Addition
   1. 2 Peter 1:5-7
   2. To do so takes diligence - doing the very best that we can do.

   3. The Christian graces are interrelated.
      1. Faith is the foundation; must begin there.
      2. Each one is dependent upon the one before it.

3. Because of Neglect

   4. Areas that are often neglected:
      1. Prayer 1 Thessalonians 5:17
      2. Attendance Hebrews 10:25
      3. Studying 1 Timothy 4:15
      4. Visiting James 1:27
      5. Teaching Romans 1:14, 15
      6. Giving 2 Corinthians 8:7

Conclusion

1. At times, remodeling is essential in a physical building - also in a life.
2. Nothing is more important than "remodeling" our lives so that they are pleasing to God.
3. Word of caution: Be careful not to remove "load bearing" walls in your remodeling.
